Over 75% of visits to physicians are for stressed related problems. If people would learn to handle stress better their health would benefit greatly. We seek to provide a means to helping people improve their ability to handle stress more effectively. We also have unique approaches that offer non-medication alternatives for a number of different problems. We know most people don't like being on medication and don't want their kids on medication. It is good to know that there are alternatives available.

PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGICAL PROFILES

One of the unique features in the ever-changing world of computers is its use in psychological aspects of human behavior. We are able to use biofeedback equipment to analyze how your system responds to stress. We follow a standardized protocol which takes about one hour to complete. We analyze your muscle tension, galvanic skin response, temperature, heart rate, muscle tension and respiration. We then utilize this information to instruct you in ways to cope and be more resilient to pressure in your life.

STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES

Have you experience how different you feel after a two-week vacation? Too bad you can't take one every month. We can't give you that but we can help you learn how to teach your body to de-stress effectively on a daily basis. Relaxation methods, breathing techniques, emotional release exercises and cognitive restructuring are some of the tools that we use to interrupt the destructive effect of stress on the body.

SLEEP PROBLEMS

When you are sleep deprived your brain can not function effectively and your emotions will be more difficult to control. Studies show that medication for sleep is only a temporary solution and once your body gets used to the medication it loses its effectiveness. So then your sleep goes down or your medication goes up again. If you want to get off that horrible cycle we can show you how.

FIBROMYALGIA/CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME

This is one of the most frustrating conditions for individuals. The medical community can not figure out how to help them resolve this condition, and again the medication issue is something that people don't like to have to contend with. We utilize EEG Biofeedback to bring about gradual but effective change. When people start experiencing more energy, less pain, better sleep, improved mood it gives both them and us a feeling of great satisfaction.

RELAXATION TAPES

We have a number of cassette tapes for teaching relaxation, stress management, pain management, Pre-surgical preparation, and Breathing Techniques for Mental and Physical Fitness. These have been very popular with many of our clients.

We encourage people to be checked out by their physicians. Often symptoms of depression can be caused by hypothyroidism and it's important that you get the appropriate treatment for your condition. There are many questions that need to be answered and it is helpful to get a medical opinion as well as a psychological perspective.
